Hapsburg Absinthe Quartier Latin Original green is a flavoured Absinthe, which actually reflects the typical Absinthe taste of wormwood, anise and fennel. It is dedicated to the Latin Quarter - the student and intellectual quarter in Paris, where Latin was spoken for a long time. The Latin Quarter belongs to the 5th arrondissement of the French capital.
Its alcohol content of 53.5% vol. is significantly lower than that of its strong brothers with 89.9% vol.
and 72.5% vol. This could make one want to enjoy these milder Absinthes also pure. The main reason for its lower alcohol content is to allow it to be shipped by airmail without being considered dangerous goods.
Recently Hapsburg Absinthe does not come from Bulgaria anymore, but from Italy. There the initiator of Hapsburg Absinthe was able to win over the spirit producer Pallini for his new absinthe creations.
Please do not get the idea to drink this Absinthe Hapsburg Quartier Latin original green pure. In general we do not recommend drinking Absinthe pure. Only inexperienced Absinthe drinkers, who don't know much about it, do that - right?
Especially this line with a lower alcohol content was developed to make Absinthe available in countries that prohibit higher alcohol content in beverages, like India, Argentina or Brazil. But also to be able to send this Absinthe Quartier Latin Original green by airmail by plane and to offer it in duty free shops at airports.
