Absinthe from Italy has gained in importance mainly due to the Italian spirits producer Pallini. In the past, Pallini was mainly known for its good limoncello. But Dale Sklar was looking for a new producer for his Hapsburg Absinthe, which he had initiated and which was formerly produced in Bulgaria. In Italy at Pallini, Dale, the boss of Wine & Spirit International Ltd. from England, found what he was looking for. The usual Hapsburg Absinthes with their very high alcohol content were produced, but the assortment was extended by further Absinthes which should be below 70% vol. so that they could be transported by airmail and not be considered as dangerous goods.
